City Programs

The City of Providence and Providence Public School District work together to provide enriching summer learning programs for Providence students of all ages.


Inspiring Minds

KidsBridge- Inspiring Minds’ KidsBridge Summer Learning Program is a Kindergarten readiness program for Providence five-year-olds who have not yet had high-quality early learning experiences. KidsBridge is free and runs from July 7- August 15, Monday through Friday, 8:30-2:30. Students learn school routines and expectations as well as early literacy, math, science, and art in a fun, play-based, high-quality early learning environment. Since Kindergarten transition is a family experience, parents and other family members participate in ongoing parent engagement events, workshops, and celebrations! Boys + Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence operates four childcare centers in the summer, from 7AM-6PM, M-F. STEM, Arts, Swimming w/ Swim lessons, Physical Education & Social Recreation are just some of the activities offered. Generation Teach

The GT STEAM Academy (GTSA) is a free 5-week summer academic acceleration program for students entering grades 5-8 in fall 2025. College and high-school students teach small, fun-filled classes including engineering, law, reading, and math, as well as afternoon enrichments such as art, sports, and finance. Free breakfast and lunch are served daily. Fun Fridays feature field trips, team competitions, and games. Free bus transportation is provided from local middle schools.
